Gunshot wounds through the frontal lobe, cause a change in personality, as that is where your personality is. Most times, the bullet will stop in the frontal lobe, as it decelerates after hitting the skull, thus causing less damage to the logic & memory of the brain.
The most & always fatal shots, are at the brain stem....that's why Mafia & professional killers shoot victims in the lower backof the head/upper neck (foramen ovale). You can live without brain function. You CANNOT live without brainstem function. The brainstem is what "regulates" breathing, heart rate & temperature. That's why, after a severe head injury, patients are put in a "Trendelenburg" (head lower then heart) position....keeps the brain swelling from "herniating" the brainstem through the foramen ovale.

generally speaking, about 20% of the overall blood volume is considered critical(appx 2 pints). Blood volume loss is significant, but also the loss rate is pretty important factor to consider. The body will recognize the volume loss and will begin to compensate by vasoconstriction, also increase in heart rate... but unmanage patients evetually will fall into decompensates hypovolemic shock.

When a person is being inflicted with a high projectile penetration wounds, there are essentially inuries by temporary cavitation and by permanent cavitation. The pressure that a projectile goes thru a body can produce up to 100x greater than the atmospheric pressure. So the organs nearby can also be injured due to tearing and stretching.

If a person gets shot on the chest around the lungs, then essentially it creates a sucking chest wound, aka open pneumothorax (maybe hemopneumo). Biggest problem is the increase in the air pressure within the thorasic cavity which the build up collaps the lungs over time. to reduce/reverse this effect, these patients will get a seal on the injury site which creates one-way valve. It can be a product like ACS or improvised occlusive dressing. Late sign of unmanaged pneumothorax will result in decrease in cardiac output, therefore severely reduced blood pressure.

Lastly, what goes in must come out. Look for exit wounds if there are entrance wounds. Hemoatatic impregnated dressings can help control the external hemorrhages, hospitals may also consider using TXA, which is essentially the opposite of clot buster used for some stroke patients.

There is a lot of incorrect and misleading statements in this video. Fact number 26: Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. A gun is really only a tool that at times gets used for wrong and hateful things. I do however appreciate your video. Keep them coming.

Second that 32,000 gun death number is counting suicides and police shooting criminals it's an inflated number I suggest that you look at the homicide chart put out by the FBI.
