Coach Carter (5/9) Movie CLIP - A Better Life (2005) HD

i wish Samuel L Jackson would take good roles again he needs to get out of the MCU.
Meanwhile Coach Carter's kid sitting in there like "man i got a 3.5 gpa why tf am i in here"
0:30 he sumed up the Entire modern education system.
The story of Coach Carter happened 25 years ago.
I was a student at a technical college when the story happened. I live on the other side of America. I’m a fan of the film. I was 19 at the time of the story, and 25 at the time of the film’s theatrical run. I first watched the film at the time of its original home media release. The lockout made Coach Carter famous.
Now a days College isnt always necessary anymore, theres other avenues.
its funny watching this in 2024 where college has basically been proven to be a massive scam
🤣😂🤣😂 watergate vote dogshit
Of those 50% of students that he mentioned that Richmond does graduated, 30-35% of students likely just passed along because teachers want them out their classrooms because they are a behavior problem. In addition, he forgot the stats on students who will probably end up dead.
2023 finna be 2024 still relevant Kids need education no matter what color you are.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray without ceasing.
This scene is great.
For some reason, I feel that if Samuel L. Jackson was to do an acting seminars to people wanting to get into acting, his lecture would be like Coach Carter's in this scene.
Samuel Jackson was the PERFECT choice for this role.
I’m sitting at my desk eating lunch. At 16 I was in the back of a cop car and thought I was screwed. 14 years later I am a successful and educated accountant. This scene is still powerful to me.
I wish one of them stood up and said, BULLSHIT!!! 😂
How utterly clownish. "A system designed for you to fail." Pleez. Just because it's not easy the excuse is to 'justifiably' give up and take 'pride' in failure. So lacking in courage and accountability....
That man Sam jack is cold blooded
This movie is a good teaching tool for any young athlete trying to 'make it big' and pursuing their dream in pro sports, in this case, basketball. While some may have the skills to succeed as a professional athlete and be able to attain it so early, having fair grades in school usually result in abundance of choices when one career path may not work out, whether it is sports, music, acting, or any sort of entertainment that relies so much on luck, similar to winning a lottery. It's not just about hitting books or getting straight A's in school, but it's a discipline that you can get from learning and having that patience to be taught by the best of the best, beyond high school, when most of us are introduced to being on our own for the first time, whether one is in college or in a vocational environment in learning from the professionals or certified teachers/coaches.
Coach Carter (Samuel Jackson) brings up race, but as a mixed person, it's more of the generational issue where many are drawn to the rags to riches success stories, and making tens and hundreds of million dollars are now common in major sports in the US.
Rich what?
I'm sorry but going to college is not the end-all-be-all to getting out of a bad area being successful... all that does is make you arrogant. The secret is finding something you can do 40 to 50 hours a week for the rest of your life that will support a family... adopt a trade... there is absolutely no shame in not being good at calculus or Advanced algebra, which you will never use, and adopting a trade..... people in trades make twice as much as those in college and are not burdened with the albatross of 100K in student debt for the rest of their life... talk about another form of slavery
