About: Coach Carter (5/9) Movie CLIP - A Better Life (2005) HD

This film gives us an excellent reflection
Beautiful 💓😍
can i make a joke?
Only lucky ones get a teacher like coach carter
I didnt know Nick Fury can get you to college. Let alone letting you into SHIELD or Avengers
Is it the best 2005 movie?
I wish every teacher would care about their students and tell them abou the cold world after school
I graduated from college, but I sure as hell don't have "a better life". 😞
0:14 Channing Tatum!!
It's a bit disappointing that a teacher/coach like Coach Carter is so rare that there is value in making a film about it.
who dat asian guy in their team i dont see him playing in their games
Lord this man had to fight to help these kids and he fought and cared about their futures more than just about everybody, including the kids themselves. These are the kinds of educators/coaches these (edit: all ) kids deserve. Though you don't necessarily have to go to college to be successful, you can learn a trade and make good bank. But if you are looking for a career in a sport, playing that sport in college is the next logical step towards that goal.
Coach Carter should have been president instead of Obama..
if its always someone elses fault, you will never have power to be better. if you accept that no matter what happens your choices directly affect the outcome, before, during, and after, than you have foundation. if you usr that foundation to analyze your choices and can find causality, you have knowledge. applying that knowledge means making different choices to affect outcomes. thats a skill. refining that skill over time brings wisdom and discernment. thats power.
go forth and accept that where you are is your responsibility, what happens to you is caused by you. what you did 10 years ago affects your life today. become powerful. learn to choose.
Most powerful scene in this movie
The greatest message of the whole film
I'm 34, university grad 10 years ago during the recession, never had a full time job never had any teacher or advisor help me get 1.

This coach punishes students with good grades honoring their end, cause "basketball is a team sport." so i guess they were supposed to score test points for the bad students because he's willing to "reward" (punish) the good students by ruining their possible athletic scholarship over it. dumb coach.

And if: everybody is equal
everybody should be treated equally
there's no objective morality
income inequality is bad, then...
1 why do we need students listening to teachers? Isn't that discrimination?
2 why should anything political, moral, or good, etc. be's just the SUBJECTIVE opinion of teachers and/or other authority figures isn't it?
3 why should any teacher or anybody in the school system make more than the median income (when factoring in that they get paid for 9 months work, with summers off or gaining extra pay, and have many benefits/retirement stuff etc. the average teacher gets more than the average person sooner or later, usually sooner).
4 If "education" is a right that should be free to all, why not demand they work for free?

P.S. I'm pro-education, but modern schools mostly don't have a full or accurate understanding of what real education is, how to grade who is educated, and how to deal with students with different interests/abilities/needs etc. Check out the main vid on for starters instead of starting a youtube argument, thanks ;)
Dont do crime and you wont get arrested. Forgot to mention
Richmond worse than my school tf
Those numbers do not add up at all :D
