Beacon NY acts like it’s not a racial community. Theee most racist area in nys that I’ve been In. These racist go through your garbage. Leave hateful voicemails and will tamper with my ongoing disability process by causing loud outrages noises in front of my home, walk all over your property and say things like gorilla. They damage packages and you’ll find hard objects in food.
As a professional statistician, it is easy to see massive errors in analysis. For instance, the first point is blacks have 20% longer sentences, but overlooks known disparities in economic status. If we go into the analysis knowing of an economic disparity and knowing that higher priced lawyers are usually better than free public defenders, it isn't hard to see that factor accounts for some of this 20%. How much? I dunno, but certainly, to ignore it is an error. What about other factors that feed into sentence time like prior convictions? It is obvious to a statistician that ignoring all other factors is an error in this case.

I agree with pretty much everything said here except the name bit it could have been a correlation and not causation. I guess I think those making those hiring choices might have thought more common names would resonate better with their clientele. Tldr I think not hiring based on names might and I mean might have less to do with race and possibly more to do with thinking a non traditional name wouldn't track well with the clientele. Meaning a Jamal might have been denied for the same reason as a Freedom. Yeah I've known people named Freedom it's a dumb name. And again I'm not saying it isn't systemic racism I'm just just saying a non traditional name doesn't help regardless if it's origin in nontraditional form regardless of race. If it's not clear basically I think people in charge of hiring favor people with more commonly recognizable names so if an applicant has a name that's seems to related to a specific race then it might just be the name itself that prevents hiring not the race of the individual. Which is also terrible I'm just saying when it comes to names it could just be the name and not the race... Again I could be entirely wrong just seems to me if the name is the reason the race might not even be considered and I'm not defending that practice either

I was taking a break from a research project on racial bias in American prisons and policing and this was the first video youtube recommended me. I should take it as a sign to go back to said project as it is already late, but whether or not I will is still up in the air.
Why do you consider Latino a race? What makes us Latinos is our language that evolved from LATIN. In latin america you can find many races as well, there are the original indigenous race (In the US there are original indigenous races too like native Hawaiians), We also have blacks whose ancestors were also brought to our countries as slaves during colonial times and finally we have WHITE PEOPLE TOO, The descendants of the Spanish. If the White people in the USA are the descendants of the English in Latin America the white are the descendants of the Spanish.
