The Facts on America's Opioid Epidemic

The reason for all the death isn't heroin or opium. The taliban is being paid to destroy the poppy plantations to force a shortage
We use same opioids for pain here in Europe. I've been prescribed many times oxycodone, tramadol, codeine etc. for my back pain. Why don't we have opioid crisis? I don't know a single person who has become addicted after being subscribed opioids, almost everyone is prescribed with them at some point in their lives.
The opioid crisis affects mostly white people. In the 70s many black people were addicted to cocaine and they were jailed arrested and families were tore apart. It was an epidemic then but because it wasn’t a certain group of people there were no help or alternatives to combat it. The only choice was to throw people in jail, destroy their records and pull them away from their family. Now we have all this money, time and crisis to fix the opioid crisis. I’m so happy we are doing it now and addiction can be an ugly thing. I have watched people I know turn into people I don’t know. But I still can’t take away the facts about the two.
It’s a shame heroin is going extinct as fentanyl (the opioid crack) is taking over. I’ve even seen people turn down heroin because they rather have fentanyl… it’s a shame things have gotten worse. Now you can find fentanyl in all 50 states not just out East. And the price keeps dropping, in Arizona you can buy a pill for 50 cents.

That’s funny,The CDC says 441,000 died from smoking last year while 41,000 died from second smoke then look at the 41,000 deaths by opioids. I’d love to know how many of those were suicides but most important. How many were mixed with other drugs. Xanax and Soma being the two biggest but alcohol is right up there. Almost all if we are gonna be 100% honest If you believe in statistics. You have to know where they are coming from. Think the medical community is gonna give up those expensive treatments like physical therapy or surgery if a $3.00 pill will take care of a patients pain. I have empathy for those parents losing children.It’s a lot easier to blame a drug company,doctor Etc. then it is to ask those hard questions of why that @dult or child is eating handfuls of Percs and Somas in the privacy of their home.Now Fentanyl is being made in China and Mexico. Leave doctors and pain pts.out of it.

& now it’s everywhere. There is no such thing as real heroin or real 30s nowadays everything is fake, or at least it WAS 2 years ago when I quit. I hope everybody can have the power to overcome their imperfections & have the ability to stay positive & keep progressing in life & never give up. It can always get better if you’re willing to do what it takes to get better
Don’t Punish Pain!! I’m not sure which studies you’ve read, but they are 100% effective against my chronic pain!! If you take it away from chronic pain patients you will hike up suicide rates in this country. You will be trading one type of death for another. Chronic pain patients don’t deserve to suffer. And just “taking away” opiates from those who need them is not the answer. Over 80% of opiate deaths also had Fentanyl, Heroin, or Cocaine in their system. The way to slow down opiate deaths is to STOP the production and selling of black market meds laced with illegal heroin and fentanyl. THIS will curb overdose deaths while still getting these life saving meds to those who need them.
