The state of gun violence in the US, explained in 18 charts

Every year, America continues to experience levels of gun violence unrivaled in the rest of the developed world. Read our full explainer on Vox.com for the stats and sources that illustrate the scope of gun ownership and gun violence in the US: http://bit.ly/2odFYVK
Key word, development.
When somebody is killed by gun-violence in my country, IT IS NEWS.
The gun deaths increased by the millions after countries like China,Russia and Germany confiscated guns.
There have been more than 49 mass shootings in 2024 so far, which is defined by the Gun Violence Archive as an incident in which four or more victims are shot or killed. These mass shootings have led to more than 80 deaths and more than 170 injuries.
Almost 5,000 people have died in U.S. gun violence so far in 2024
Mental health has nothing to do with it...don't address that.
Yes but stabbing with knifes is way higher which is hidden. High gun violence are major in gun ban cities. It simple making good people helpless won't make criminals harmless and when every second counts the police are minutes away. It simple and argue all you want the facts are true!
In Switzerland pretty much every single man has an assault rifle at home. And none of them would even think about using it against the own people. Why? Because it is a healthy functioning society. It is not about the guns. It is about mental health. If the USA want less gun-violence, they must reboot their country and their entire society.
I think it's funny how some people claim they keep guns in case the "government" gets out of hand.

Like bruh, chill country's with tanks, jets and missiles can't stop the U.S Military. Your AR that you go shoot every other weekend for an hour and a half will do nothing if the military turns on you.
In Japan, Toyotomi Hideyoshi confiscated ⚔️katana in the past, but it would be impossible for the USA to do the same.

And considering the USA's history of independence, it would also be impossible to change the USA's weapons laws.

USA has lost forever its chance to escape from the 🔫gun society.

It may have been possible in a past era like Japan, but it is very difficult to get rid of guns in modern society.
😢This is bad
The other countries have a stabbing problem
So because of gangs, everyone needs to lose their guns? When America decides to punish law obiding citizens because of criminal behaviour going unchallenged, its lost its way
And what has happened in the past 7 years?!
Can you do an update to this video?
yet are in everyone elses country trying to solve their problems
Best thing about it is that Americans are not going to do anything about it. That society just love violence, it is deep rooted in their culture (e.g. watch their movies)
Are you going to completely ignore the Obama era DOJ study showing 500,000 to 3 million defensive gun uses per year in the U.S.? That shows a minimum of 12 times the number of people saved by guns as killed by guns and many of the people that died by “Homocide” were legal law enforcement and self defense shootings. As a 20yr law enforcement officer, I want every good citizen to be armed and well trained because every day I see what happens to unarmed victims of crime.
Until society recognizes that we don’t have a gun violence problem, we have a HUMAN violence problem and blaming inanimate objects that CANNOT operate without a human will never solve the problem. Get a clue society.
I respectfully disagree. You seem to be hand-picking countries for comparison. For instance, Japan isn't even on your list of 'Human Development". In fact , your list selection appears to be quite racist.
