Why you should love statistics | Alan Smith

the account for 5/100 but make trouble for 25/100. Pretty straightforward
I expected more from this video. Good presentation, but I wouldnt recommend this video to anyone to watch it
Hands down. Great spokesmen! But I still hate stats!! :)
Many of the sciences were part of philosophy before they became separate disciplines.
Neat presentation but I so strongly disagree. We are obsessed with statistics today, and we need to stop. More often than not, statistics lead us to false conclusions, fuel single-mindedness and self-fulfilling ideas, encourage biases, justify foolish or vile actions, and get us worked up over nothing. We need to get away from looking at everything as a number and start looking at ourselves as people, and the world as something real, not just a vice for numbers.
this was great!!! ive been avoiding starting my statistics homework but this is encouraging me to do it! heh
God, 24 out of 100 , That's a nightmare right there.

Nah, Statistics is definitely a science of uncertainty. 😅 Nice presentation tho.
Statistics in itself means imperfection, a guess at best, science is a theory, so you're going to put inperfection and theory in the same category? Wouldn't that be called a conspiracy theory?
i came here when it was boring studying statistical methods
A wonderful speech!

Succinct but unforgettable!

Coz blindness is also obvious
Perfect! going to send this to my A level statisticians :D
Statistics fight against perceptual blindness and biases by demonstrating honest figures that are closer to reality; It is the science of "us." Get ready to be inspired by numbers!
Great talk. What program is used to show the percentage graphic?

Beautifully explained
How do we know that the person who made that number isn't one of the 49 percent either? An honest mistake, right!
